Office Of Employment Equity

The Office of Employment Equity (OEE) has overall responsibility for the university’s policies and activities that arise out of its commitment to equal opportunity and affirmative action in employment, and the university’s compliance with related legal obligations. These include the university’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action policy, as well as the Policy Prohibiting Discrimination and Harassment.

OEE is available to assist a person who believes that he or she has been subjected to harassment or discrimination that violates the university’s Policy Prohibiting Discrimination and Harassment and who may wish to file a complaint. OEE is also a resource to a manager or supervisor who faces a potential violation of the Policy Prohibiting Discrimination and Harassment.

OEE also provides information, support and counseling to staff employees with disabilities and their supervisors on disability matters, including requests for accommodation.

OEE provides training on harassment, discrimination, and disabilities in the workplace for departments, units and groups.

OEE is also responsible for implementation of the university’s Affirmative Action Plan for Equal Employment Opportunity, and monitors the university’s progress with regard to the Plan. The Plan, which covers females, minorities, individuals with disabilities, disabled veterans, recently separated veterans or other protected veterans, is available for inspection by employees and applicants for employment on each campus.

Please contact OEE if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.
